Greater Praise Temple of Truth is a small faith-based church. We have been dedicated to growth through personal relationships designed to help strengthen the livelihood and faith in Christ since 1991. Our mission at GPTOT is to do the will of God and live a life that's pleasing to Him.
Welcome
Praise the Lord, we made it through another year. Now we can see where God has brought us from.
Remember a meaningful life is not about being rich, being popular, being highly educated, or being perfect.....it is about being real, being humble, being strong, and being able to share ourselves and touch the lives of others.
So be strong enough to stand alone, smart enough to know when you need help, And brave enough to ask for it when you need it. Let's not focus on negative stuff, live right, and always remember to do the right thing.
You are closer to your promises and the enemy wants you to give up. Some won't understand how you're making it through.
You feel like throwing up your hands but God chose you to do work and to live right so whatever you're going through, just don't ever give up! When you can't see your way just remember God has never failed.
God will finish what He started, If He said it, He will do it. If He made a promise, it's coming to pass.
God doesn't give the battle to His toughest soldiers, He creates the toughest soldiers through life's hardest battles.
Love You Much,
Mother Evelyn Lane

Evelyn Freeman was born in Tallahassee, Florida to Lillie Mae Freeman and she has two older sisters, Edith and Sarah, and a younger brother named Scott. She met her husband Robert Lane Sr. (whom the Lord had already shown her in a dream), a native of Vicksburg, Mississippi on February 21, 1967, at an orange grove in Bowling Green, Florida. They dated for 3 months and then got married on June 11, 1967. They moved to Delray Beach FL, and then to Daytona Beach FL, where Robert was drafted into the army.
Upon his return from the army, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Lane Sr. decided to reside in Tallahassee, Florida.
They started a family in 1970, with the birth of their first son Robert Lane Jr. (children Travian and Trionne and their mother Penny), then 2-years later daughter Ramona Alisa Lane and daughter, Jalisa) and 5 years after, the youngest son, Everett (wife, Mariah, children Olivia and Isaiah).
Evelyn has a gentle mothering spirit filled with kind words and understanding ears, and. A lot of Gods' people call her "Mother or Mother Lane." Her mission began at the age of 12 when she was converted and later received the precious gift of the Holy Ghost on August 19, 1979, under the ministry of the late Bishop Frank Stallworth Jr. She accepted her calling into the ministry in November of 1983.
Evelyn preached her first message on the 3rd Sunday in February of 1984. She was appointed assistant to Pastor Stallworth in 1990, where she remained until the Lord told her to leave. It was hard for her to abandon her comfort zone, but she had to obey God.
The Lord instructed Mother Lane to travel the field where she could learn and grow. He placed her with a young Prophet (who had already been revealed in her dreams) by the name of Lloyd S. Thomas who ran revivals from city to city and state to state.
They even ventured to other countries where many souls were healed, saved, and delivered. The Prophet later told Mother Lane that the Lord had led him to start a church in Tallahassee, where she assisted him until he left to start a church in Panama City. The Lord instructed Mother Lane to keep the Church in Tallahassee going until he told her what to do. February of 1993, she was ordained by Prophet Lloyd S. Thomas, along with Elder Lane, and in March of 1999, appointed Pastor of (now) Greater Praise Temple of Truth, Inc. Elder Robert Lane Sr. is the Assistant Pastor.
"It has been a long journey and the load is heavy, but she can make it, because she is equipped."
Robert, Sr. is Assistant Pastor of Greater Praise Temple of Truth, Tallahassee, FL. He was born May 4, 1943, to now, Mother Luvenia Ellis of Vicksburg, Mississippi, and the late John Lane. He is a retired supervisor at the Florida Department of Education where he has been employed since 1977. He was filled with the Holy Ghost in August 1979. He accepted his call into the ministry on August 06, 1989, and since then his goal has been to please the Lord. He is a very loving and kind man of God.
Elder feels that God will restore those that want to be restored, save those who really want to be saved, and keep those who want to be kept. He is a firm believer in getting his shout on (holy dance)! He is a man after God's own heart.
